Before starting the larger body of work titled Mind Map, I developed these small studies. They assisted my process of exploring the new methods of layering opaque and transparent geometric forms through gestural brushstrokes, bold colors, and experimental paint applications. Inspired by the work of Wassily Kandinsky, I intended to stimulate a playful curiosity, drawing the viewer back to discover new moments within each composition.
