This painting, part of a larger body of work was inspired by small studies I created in the winter of 2020. At the time, I was reading Amy Sillman's book, Faux Pas. I decided halfway through this new body of work to re-visit her writings, specifically her thoughts on what urges us to push a painting and the awkwardness around that. All the while trying to drive my visual language.
